CCPHSE – Utility SHEA (Cross Country Pipelines)

Essential Safety, Health, and Environmental Awareness for Pipeline Projects

This intensive one-day Cross Country Pipeline SHEA Certification course is specifically tailored for individuals working on or near buried and above-ground pipelines that transport oil, gas, or other hazardous materials over long distances.

The training provides comprehensive insights into the specific risks and best practices associated with pipeline operations, including land entry, plant protection, and emergency response. Successful completion enhances safety and compliance and provides a pathway to CSCS-controlled sites.

Key Learning Outcomes

The curriculum covers the eight mandatory Core Modules plus two Cross Country Pipelines-Specific Modules, addressing the unique risks associated with the sector:

  • Pipeline Protection: Understanding the Plant Protection Zone (PPZ) and the rules for working within the pipeline easement (wayleave).

  • Asset Damage: Recognizing the signs and risks of damage to buried and visible pipelines and reporting procedures.

  • Emergency Protocols: Specific response procedures for leaks, spills, and catastrophic failure on a cross country pipeline.

  • Land Access & Right of Way: Understanding land entry permits, right-of-way obligations, and environmental controls in rural settings.
