Comprehensive Knowledge and Practical Skills for PE Pipe Jointing

This intensive two-day combined training programme is designed to provide operatives and supervisors with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to safely and correctly join Polyethylene (PE) pipework using the two primary industry techniques: Electro Fusion (EF) and Butt Fusion (BF) welding.

Upon successful completion, attendees gain an EUSR-endorsed certificate, validating their competence to perform these critical jointing operations in line with current industry standards and best practices.

This course is essential for individuals who are, or will be, directly involved in joining PE pipework across the gas, water, and utility sectors, including:

  • Pipe-laying Operatives
  • Utility Supervisors and Engineers
  • Contractors working on PE pipeline installations
  • Anyone requiring documented proof of competence in both PE Electrofusion and Butt fusion techniques.

Accreditation EUSR Endorsed Training Programme (ETP)
Prerequisites No formal entry requirements, but a basic level of written and spoken English is required. Delegates must be physically able to complete the practical assessment.
Assessment Continuous practical assessment throughout the course, combined with a written Multiple Choice Question Paper (minimum 80% pass mark required).
Certification EUSR Endorsed E-Certificate issued upon successful completion of both theory and practical assessments.
Validity The EUSR-endorsed qualification is valid for 3 years.
Renewal Refresher training and subsequent assessment are required before the 3-year expiry date to renew the qualification and maintain EUSR registration.
