The EUSR Puller Winch Scheme provides the essential knowledge and certification for personnel involved in the safe set-up, operation, and control of mechanical winches used for cable pulling, primarily within the telecommunications and utility infrastructure sectors.
This training focuses on adherence to safety regulations, correct load calculation, equipment maintenance, and safe operating procedures to prevent equipment failure and protect workers and the network infrastructure.
Who Should Attend?
This training is mandatory for any operative, engineer, or technician who is required to set up, operate, or supervise the use of cable puller winches on utility and telecommunications sites. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Telecoms Installation Engineers
- Utility Operatives involved in cable laying (power, fibre, water pipes).
- Supervisors and Managers overseeing cable installation teams.
- Contractors working on the Openreach network or other utility corridors.
