The EUSR Safe Control of Mains Connections (SCMC) Water scheme is mandatory training designed to ensure that operatives and supervisors working on new water mains connections possess the essential knowledge required to integrate them safely into the live water distribution network.

Developed in collaboration with UK Water Companies and Self-Lay Organisations (SLOs), this course provides the knowledge foundation for individuals involved in contestable works—ensuring safety, compliance, and strict adherence to the Self-Lay Code of Practice and industry regulations like the Water Industry Registration Scheme (WIRS).
